American Style Rhythm Courses:

Rhythm 101:            Newcomer Bronze Rhythm I

This class will teach the basics of 4 popular rhythm dances: The East Coast Swing, Rumba, Mambo, and Cha-cha.  Focus will be on basic movements, how to lead and follow, and timing. Dancers should be moving around comfortably and able to dance through full songs by repeating steps.

 

Rhythm 102:            Preliminary Bronze Rhythm I

This class continues more in depth with the primary rhythm dances: The East Coast Swing, Rumba, Mambo, and Cha-chaFocus will be on smoothing out the dance, comfort in leading and following new patterns, and beginning to incorporate technique into the dances.

 

Rhythm 103:            Intermediate Bronze Rhythm I

More advanced social steps and technique are taught in : The East Coast Swing, Rumba, Mambo, and Cha-chaProper technique & styling, timing as well as tempo and music recognition are progressed, and larger routines are built with less repetition within the routine. Students should be very comfortable by now and able to focus on specific aspects of each dance.

 

Rhythm 104:            Advanced Bronze Rhythm I

At the end of this class each student will become certified as "Full Bronze" in each of the following dances: The East Coast Swing, Rumba, Mambo, and Cha-chaAll aspects of the dance are covered in detail: Footwork, Foot positions, Timing, Lead/Follow, Technique and Styling.  Students are very competent in all aspects of each dance, and can lead/follow different levels of dancers in a social environment.

 

Rhythm 201:            Newcomer Bronze Rhythm II

This class will teach the basics of 4 popular rhythm dances: The West Coast Swing, Bolero, Samba, and Merengue.  Focus will be on basic movements, how to lead and follow, and timing. Dancers should be moving around comfortably and able to dance through full songs by repeating steps.
